Rob Paternostro has been handed the Molten BBL Coach of the Month accolade for December after guiding Leicester Riders to a flawless 7-0 during the period.
The play-caller was handed the gong after edging out Paul James of Worcester Wolves, who took his side to the BBL Cup Final and was also perfect in the month.
Paternostro and Riders collected some huge wins during December against the likes of Eagles, Rocks and Lions, as the league title holders cemented top spot in the standings.
It started with a hard-fought 82-77 road win at Bristol Flyers and it wouldn’t be the only close-call, with the influence of Paternostro vital in helping his side to claim a number of tight and precious victories.
A week later, Riders managed to squeeze past London Lions 78-77 and continuing their Friday Feeling, they followed it up in a dramatic first BBC Sport game of the season when Andy Thomson scored a bucket in the clutch against his ex-employers for a 79-77 win against Esh Group Eagles Newcastle.
After storming past Leeds Force 104-59 in the First Round of the BBL Trophy, Paternostro was back masterminding more league wins as Riders firstly despatched the dangerous Glasgow Rocks 90-78 and then won 88-78 at Surrey Scorchers.
Paternostro then rounded off another fabulous calendar year with Riders by watching his team sweep aside Leeds Force 105-53.
