Friday night serves up big entertainment and excitement

Posted on BBL Media

It was a dramatic Friday night in the BBL Championship as three of the four games went right down to the wire - including Jaysean Paige firing a stellar 40 points for Esh Group Eagles in their top of the table 89-85 win against leaders Leicester Riders.

That avenged a loss earlier in the season and there was a similar theme at the Copper Box as London Lions got some payback for a Cup Semi-Final exit against Cheshire by beating Phoenix 86-81, behind 21 points and 10 assists from Justin Robinson.

DBL Sharks Sheffield grabbed their first win of 2018 but the home fans had no fingernails left after a nerve-shredding 99-94 overtime triumph against Surrey Scorchers as Tony Wroblicky shot the lights out for 22 points.

Meanwhile live on BBC Sport, Elvisi Dusha continued his hot streak with a BBL season and career high 17 assists as Worcester Wolves eased out Bristol Flyers 91-76. Rob Gilchrist also came up with some huge blocks.
