There’s a thrilling opening weekend of BBL Championship action lying in wait, including defending champions Leicester Riders stepping out when the curtain is raised on Friday 29 September.
They will face Manchester Giants in one of four games on the first evening of the brand-new campaign, which follows on from the British Basketball All-Stars event at The 02 in London on 24 September.
Leeds Force also have a tough first test on home soil when they entertain the Eagles and there are also two fine match-ups between Sharks and Scorchers, as well as Wolves and Lions.
There is a huge south-west derby on Saturday 30 September between Bristol Flyers and Plymouth Raiders, while Sunday sees London Lions take on south-east rivals Surrey Scorchers.
Opening weekend concludes on Sunday 01 October with Tony Garbelotto tipping off a new era for Glasgow Rocks at home to Sharks, while Phoenix play their first game of the season against Wolves and there is also south-east derby between Lions and Scorchers.
All fixtures will be available on the BBL website soon and games to be shown on BBC Sport will also be revealed in due course.
The top four teams in the BBL Championship last season receive a bye to the Quarter Finals (and a home tie). The Round 1 match-ups are based on last season’s placing and are as follows:
Lions v Force
Flyers v Phoenix
Wolves v Giants
Scorchers v Raiders
The draw for the Quarter Final Round (single legs) will be undertaken shortly. The Final will take place on Sunday 28th January 2018 at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham.
The Draw for Round 1 will be undertaken shortly, with the Final taking place on Sunday 4th March 2018 at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.
The Quarter-Finals will take place on or around the weekend of 4-6 May and the Semi-Finals the weekend after. The Final will be played at The O2 on Sunday 20 May 2018.
