London Lions have confirmed the signing of former Glasgow Rocks big man, Will Hall for the upcoming season.
The 6ft 7in Hall, returns to the UK after a season in Spain’s LEB Plata with Obila CB, where he averaged 9.5 points and 7 rebounds per game. The Sheffield native performed well for Glasgow in his previous BBL spell, hitting 50% from the field on his way to averaging 13 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
Having played for England in the European Championships at Under 16 and 18, Hall made his debut in the BBL for Leeds Force in 2014. The young GB star caught the eye of Lions Coach Mariusz Karol who stated: “I see the way he plays the pick and roll, he moves well off the screens and his ability to stretch the floor plus his rebounding will work well for us” said the play-caller.
Lions boss, Vince Macaulay was happy with the acquisition and added: ” Will is athletic and smart, he produces night in and night out and has that typical British bull dog spirit, he fights for every possession, he’s seasoned now and will be a key for us.”
Meanwhile the player himself commented: "I'm very happy to sign with the Lions.
"I had a great year abroad last season, but I'm happy to be back playing in Britain and where better than the capital. The Copper Box is a great venue and with the new-look Lions team I'm sure we're going to have an exciting and successful year in the BBL. I'm looking forward to it."
The Lions team is looking drastically different from last season with new faces in every position. This was always going to be the case once the coaching position changed and fans will get a chance to see them in action on Friday 22nd of September at the UEL Sportsdock against a former team of Will Hall’s in the shape of Glasgow Rocks.
Watch out for two more player signings this week, as the roster approaches completion.
