Riders snap Sharks' six-game win streak.

Leicester Riders 80-75 DBL Sharks Sheffield (20-12, 48-33, 68-52)

Leicester Riders leapfrogged DBL Sharks Sheffield into second place in the BBL Championship as they ended the six-game win streak of their opponents.

Leading Scorers – Thomson 19, Holder 14, Bernardini 13 (Riders); Alexander 25, Williams 17, Gachette 11 (Sharks)

Turning point – Riders' defence held the visitors to 12 points in the opening period before stepping things up at the other end with a 28-point second to lead by 15 at the break. Sheffield mounted a late rally to close within four, but the defending champions were able to hold on for the win.

Key stat - Sharks were again without injured guard Mackey McKnight and came up short in depth with Leicester's bench outscoring their opponents 35-2 with key contributors for the home side.

Game hero(es) – Andy Thomson had another strong performance for the Riders, finishing with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds from the bench, while Tyler Bernardini added 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists with TrayVonn Wright making his second debut for the club.
