Leicester Riders soared back to The 02 as their silverware treble hunt continues. Familiar rivals Esh Group Eagles Newcastle now await them at next Sunday's British Basketball Play-Off Finals.

Leicester Riders are heading back to The O2 after beating London Lions 72-55 to reach the Play-Off Final once again.

Rob Paternostro’s team won the First Leg by 19 points in the capital and pulled away in the second half to win their last home game of the season.

Eric Robertson and Shane Walker scored 12 points apiece, while Tyler Bernardini was also in double figures with 11 and Brandon Clark handed out eight assists.

The LIons made a positive start and a 7-1 close to the opening period put them 13-17 ahead. The lead peaked at eight points at 15-23 in the second, but Leicester responded to close the gap to a single point at the half.

The Riders stepped up it with a pivotal 26-10 third period before securing a 17-point win as they held the Lions to just 25 points in the second half.

Alex Owumi finished with a game-high 21 points for the Lions as they were unable to claw back the First Leg deficit.

The Riders will now face Esh Group Eagles Newcastle in next Sunday’s showdown in the capital.
