Scorchers sails past Force to continue winning start to New Year

Surrey Scorchers 92-65 Leeds Force (26-19, 54-34, 72-52)

Surrey Scorchers picked up their second win of 2018 after overcoming Leeds Force in front of the BBC Sport cameras.

Creon Raftopoulos’ side improve to 8-9 in the standings with Leeds still looking for their second win of the campaign.

Leading scorers - Williams 19, Ogedengbe 15, Steel 14 (Scorchers) - Kuyinu 22, Nix 14, Brownell 11 (Force)

Turning point - Leeds closed the gap after a bright start from the hosts, but the game got away from them in the second. The Scorchers put up 28 points to establish a commanding lead at the half-time break and never looked back.

Key stat - Scorchers were dominant in the paint, scoring 50 of their 92 points and shared the ball well with 29 assists in the win.

Game hero - Jordan Williams put on a one-man dunk fest for the Scorchers in his team-high 19 points, but also added 11 rebounds for a double-double along with five assists.
